Describe the personality or look of your tree.

This tree is young, straight and very healthy looking with lots of green leaves.  It seems to be growing very well and I am sure it is happy out in the sunshine. I saw this tree when I had a recent picnic with my friends in Federal Reserve. It is close to a walking path and one day will provide welcome shelter to people walking past.

Why is this tree important to you?

This tree is important to me as I am young like the tree and have plenty of growing to do as well.  I am a special needs young adult and have lots of people in my life who look after me and help me grow.  I noticed that there are older and different types of trees near my tree. Maybe they will look after my tree as well.

What does a sustainable future look like in Monash?

A sustainable future in Monash looks to me like everyone doing their part by buying only what they need and recycling as much as possible.  I would like to see all new houses being built to re-use household water and to have solar panels installed.

What are you doing right now to create that future?

At home I help recycle household waste. We have a special bin for plastic and paper which my dad then sorts into our recycle bins.  After my picnic at the reserve we took all our rubbish home with us to sort for recycling. I helped dig the compost into the garden.  We also recycle the water from our washing machine into our garden.  The garden loves this water.

Where is your tree located?

My tree is in Federal Reserve Mount Waverley and is easy to find.  It is close to the walking path which goes from the car park to the play area.
