What to expect at EYS?

Young people are required to sign in upon arrival each week to provide basic information such as name, contact number, emergency contact details and dietary requirements. Sign in is completed using an iPad set up at the entrance to the Youth Space.

EYS happens across various spaces at MYS, including the Youth Space, kitchen, outdoor balcony and meeting room. Young people come and go from the program at various times and the space can get loud. Dedicated spaces are provided to meet diverse needs, including open areas for socialising, private study rooms for homework and sensory rooms designed to support emotional regulation and wellbeing.

EYS offers a welcoming and inclusive environment with access to free Wi-Fi, light snacks and nutritious hot food. A wide range of structured and unstructured activities are available to support social connection, creativity and personal development. These include chess tournaments, self-defence workshops, cooking workshop, arts and crafts, gardening activities, board and card games, arcade games and access to gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Switch 2.

Qualified Youth workers are present during EYS hours to provide guidance, information and support, and to connect young people with additional services or programs where appropriate.
