Describe the personality or look of your tree.
This tree has bright leaves and blossoms during spring and summer mainly. With a significant size and sturdy body, it's sure to provide you protection against the sun through its shade and withstand Melbourne's unpredictable weather around the year!

Why is this tree important to you?

This tree has a unique vibrancy such that it always lightened my mood as I strolled around Kingsway after school on the way home. In my time here in Glen Waverley, I've witnessed firsthand its rapid growth and florescence. I reminisce the times my friends & I used to hang out near the tree. In fact, a digital poster produced by Monash Youth Services, named "Our Strength is in Our Diversity" has also been displayed adjacent to this tree! Being a part of the Services, this location reminds me of my contribution to the society as a Monash Youth Ambassador. Subsequently, the tree holds a refreshing yet rewarding connotation for me.

What does a sustainable future look like in Monash?
Apart from smart bins for proper waste management, I believe solar pathways (e.g. bicycle lanes) close to pedestrian walkways could be an opportunity to contribute to powering up street lights/CCTV cameras and other Intelligent Transport System (ITS) assets for sustainably-focused Monash.

What are you doing right now to create that future?
To work towards the goal, I take caution whilst disposing of any waste of my own appropriately and throw all food scraps in the compost when at home, doing my part as a citizen. I also prefer to use public transport instead of a personal car when feasible.

Where is your tree located?

Corner of Kingsway and Coleman Parade, Glen Waverley.
