Arcus - LGBTIQA+ Social Educational Program

In July 2024, Monash Youth Services is launching Arcus, a social educational program for LGBTIQA+ young people aged 14-18.

This program is currently being co-designed by Monash Young People aged 16-25 from the LGBTIQA+ community and Youth Services.

The social educational program will meet weekly throughout term 3, sessions will have social activities including;  team games, creative workshops and group excursions. Educational activities will encourage participants to explore their identity, develop both leadership and advocacy skills and increase awareness of relevant local services. Sessions will be presented by both Monash Youth Services Youth Workers and external facilitators. 

Expressions of interest to join the LGBTIQA+ program for term 3 are open now. To apply, please complete this brief Expression of Interest Form. Once submitted a worker will contact you within two business days to discuss the program further. This project is supported by the Youth Affairs Council Victoria and the Victorian Government via the Healthy Equal Youth (HEY) Grants initiative aimed at supporting LGBTIQA+ young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

*The name Arcus is derived from the word Rainbow which comes from the Latin ‘Arcus Pluvius’ meaning rainy arch.*
