Why did you get involved in Quiksound Production?

I joined Quiksound after I heard about it from some friends, one of whom was an old committee member, who knew I was interested in elements of event organisation as a future career and recommended the program to me. Once I learnt more about what Quiksound did, I was eager to apply and after meeting everyone and doing my first event I knew it was something I would be doing for a long time!

Why do you enjoy being involved in Quiksound Productions?

One of the main reasons I love being a part of Quiksound is the community that we have in the committee and what we get to experience at events. Everyone is so friendly, cooperative and everywhere that we work is always a safe and supportive space. Gaining experience by actively working with the community is such an enjoyable experience that has definitely made me more familiar with Monash and has been so incredibly rewarding. 

What skills have you developed during your time with the group?

When I first started at Quiksound, I had only been looking to gain experience in event organisation, but the things we’ve done have taught me a lot more than I anticipated. Not only have I gained skills in leadership and teamwork, I have been exposed to the inner workings of events, tech and community processes, learning efficient and appropriate communication for organising successful events and much more.

Who would you recommend this group to?

Everyone eligible (ages 12-25)! While I would especially recommend Quiksound to those interested in event organisation and/or working with the community, you don’t need to have a particular interest in these things to love what we do at Quiksound. No matter what you’re doing or what you want to do in the future, people can learn so much from being part of the committee, all the while being in a fun and welcoming environment!
