We would like to congratulate Rachael Brown for receiving a High Commendation at the John Monash Awards this year.
Rachael was nominated in the category of Inspirational Womens Leadership for her advocacy of women and girls pursuing careers in the automotive mechanics and car racing industry.
Rachael builds and races vintage cars and recently graduated from school, where she has been studying Automotive Mechanics through VCAL. Rachael plans to keep studying and building her skills in Automotive Mechanics, with dreams of working with F1 and V8 teams in the future. Rachael is also a graduate of our Activate program, which she attended from ages 11-17, progressing over the years to become an Activate mentor and leader. This week she revisited Activate to talk about her experience at the John Monash Awards and run a session on confidence building. Rachael drew from her own experiences and provided current Activate members with practical tips of stepping out of their comfort zone.
