Debunking 5 myths in 5 days podcasts

Monash Youth Ambassadors (YABS) discovered that dealing with stress was one of the top concerns for Monash young people from the 2021 Monash Youth Survey.  Reflected on their own experience, YABS decided to create episodes of podcasts to talk about stress. 

YABS invited Dr Glenn Melvin, an Associate Professor and clinical and counselling psychologist from Deakin University, to debunk the common myths about stress and provide useful tips to deal with stressful moments.  The episodes explore the following five myths:

“Grades are everything”

“Stress is purely negative”

“People feel stress in the same way”

“You’re fine if you don’t look stressed”

“You can’t control stress”
