Introducing Monash Youth Services' featured Artist, Kety Li.

In creating this mural for Monash Youth Services, I wanted to centre the values of respect, inclusivity, and cultural awareness. The message, “Monash Youth Services stands on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people,” was chosen to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land and to recognise their enduring connection to Country.

As someone who cares deeply about community and diversity, it was important to me that this work not only contribute to a welcoming environment but also reflect a genuine respect for Aboriginal culture and history.

Art has been a meaningful part of my life for many years - a spiritual and calming hobby that brings me joy and allows me to express myself in beautiful and creative ways. For this mural, I chose a cartoon style to make the design more engaging and accessible for younger children and teens, helping to create a space that feels safe, friendly, and inclusive for all.

This project was a way for me to give back meaningfully through art and to support the cultural integrity of the spaces we share.
