On Wednesday October 24th, Quiksound Productions took over Village Cinemas for the annual Monash Youth Film Festival. The film festival is a long running feature of Monash Council, which aims to showcase and celebrate young filmmakers in the area. This year we had over 30 short films submitted, and screened 16 on the night to an audience of over 100.

Filmmakers and audiences were treated to a night of amazing films, covering genres such as drama, romance, horror, comedy, documentary and music video. Between films guests could enjoy discounted popcorn and drink, or take selfies at our photo wall.

The festival awards prizes for categories such as Best Cinematography, Editing, Drama, and the all important Best Film, which wins an exclusive filmmaking summer masterclass. 2017 winner of Best Film Kalana Vithana presented the award to Alanna Del Vecchio for 'The Clown Series 2'. Congratulations to Alanna and all the other filmmakers for their hard work!

Special thanks go out to Monash Council, Village Cinemas, Julie Siedses, DML Security and the Quiksound Productions team. Our months of hard work and planning has paid off with another successful event! Stay tuned for more events from Quiksound Productions in 2019!
